In the year 2000 I was looking for a job that fitted around my kids. I had taken a few years out and had various trades previously. There I was browsing through the local paper, most jobs weren't right. Wrong hours, not enough money wanted experience etc. The same job kept jumping out at me "Carers wanted". What pushed me to go for it even more everyone said I couldn't do it!
So there I was first day as a carer in a residential home, not knowing what to expect but one thing I did know, for the first time I felt like I belonged!!!
I moved around into different care settings all the time gaining more skills and more passion to do more. Thats when I decided to do my training. In 2005 I got all the information constantly being told how hard it was to get in how only the right kind of people were selected to train. The first thing I had to do was get the qualifications needed to get on the course.
Slightly phased and disheartened my determination kicked in and I began a two year part time course to get the qualifications to complete my application.
